Look What Lockdown Led To

Auckland distributor Julie Kozlowski is doing business a little differently post lockdown. Julie took the time over lockdown to get back to her 'real passion' of getting good food into as many school tuckshops as she can. "I had to seriously look at how my business was tracking," says Julie who was managing school canteens and supplying products to school canteens, by doing both jobs she felt she was being spread too thinly.

Julie explains "after many sleepless nights I decided to close over half of the tuckshops I managed and focus on getting out to talk to people about our product". By freeing up her time Futurefoods Auckland can now cater outside of their usual delivery area of South and West Auckland to include East and North Auckland too.

This new challenge is just what Julie needs to stay invigorated about an industry she loves and is still passionate about 14 years on. "I have years of experience in this market and am always happy to give guidance and help to schools and tuckshops alike. Working with them to find a good balance of food items that suits the schools and their beliefs. That is where I am at now and once again, I am loving spending time with the schools I work with".

In her first days back into our new normal, Julie has seen a rise in interest from school canteens keen to come on board as stockists of Juicies and Moosies, she believes the combination of being a healthier immunity-boosting option and a product that's made Aotearoa using local ingredients has made it more popular than ever.
